Why wont he text me? what is his deal? Help please?

It appears he may have no very little or no social skill or does not know how to initiate a conversation. With that said, he would wait for you start the convo and attempt to casually keep up. BTW you should not need to apologize for going about your normal life. If you need to leave say so and no further should be expected. An understanding person would know this and press you no further. Just FYI
