Are german people racist?
It's the inevitable culture clash that occurs when tourists (especially who are culturally diverse) travel to other countries and may be perceived negatively or as peculiar. The "looks" occurred probably because maybe that particular group of Germans didn't have that much exposure to seeing individuals who are racially different then them. It is offensive but I try to look past it and realize it may be due to ignorance or limited contact with diverse individuals. For example, a few years back my family and I went to Paris. We received a lot of evil looks and comments when we were speaking in English and I think it's because they thought we were "Americans"--as told by a fellow French citizen.
