Hollyoaks Lydia confusion (and newt)?

Lydia did cut her wrists but she didn't die, next week she admits to Archie that Sarah wasn't meant to die. Everyone thought Rae was a figment of Newt's Imagination, but she can't have been because in 2 weeks time Newt finds out that Rae is alive and well. I hope that helps a bit.
