How would you feel if your friend asked your spouse/significant other for a hug?

Keep it a SHORT hug, like you'd give to, say, a frail grandparent - 3 seconds or less. Anything beyond that, you're inviting trouble. What's with your girlfriends, anyway? Most women I see have no trouble with hugs...are they afraid of les rumors?
