Should I relocate to chicago - no job, never been there. Is this smart?

I have graduated college in May, have AA in Journalism and BA in Communications. Want to work as a paralegal, lol. Currently having REALLY hard time finding work in the NYC area. should I relocate to Chicago?? how hard is it to find work there and how quickly could I get a place, job, etc. I'm a single female, 26....want to get rid of my car and rely on pub. transport. Everyone keeps telling me, i'm young so do it and I will adjust when I get there - how smart of a move is this?
