Joining the USCG and where you will be stationed…?

Hi, looking to enlist into the military. I am very strongly interested in going into something related towards the medical field. Deciding on which branch to go for, and hopefully become enlisted too. Was wondering if anyone had any personal response to where you will be stationed while serving with the Coast Guard. Not that I would mind, but personally would not want to be stuck doing shore work a lot or behind a desk. Though would do it if have to. Would you be aboard a cutter most of the time for your service? Thanks for the feedback.
